Pokémon Sardonyx: Raised to Win contains a colorful cast of characters which have stories and perspectives just as rich as the player's. We hope to establish and convey the interwoven threads that connect each character to the story, the setting, and each other, though it may take a long time for some of those threads to pay off in a satisfying way.
Our game is focused on character development above all else. The way that each character grows throughout the story, to us, has more of an impact on the quality of the game than its gameplay, designs, and world, even though we pay special attention to those as well. Many of these characters represent parts of ourselves or are even loose self-inserts. We've poured out hearts and souls into them, and we hope you appreciate them as much as we do.
Many characters in this game are holdovers from when Pokémon Sardonyx was a roleplay. Though some of these characters did belong to the team actively working on the game, several others were lifted from the roleplay without us being able to get into contact with the people who wrote them. Because the roleplay ended very early in the game's timeline of events, we've had to continue these characters in our best approximation of the voices and motivations we could write. All characters are filtered through Keileon and Lord X-Giga-X, hopefully taking the many writing styles of the roleplayers and making them one consistent, cohesive storyline.
